The area was rather quiet, in truth. It was mid-afternoon, and though it was mildly warm, the weather was withstand-able. One would have expected quite a lot of movement over such times, yet there wasn't for one reason or another. far off nearly the small pond in that particular area, a tree rested rather close to the bank and seemed to be shading part of the water. If one looked closer, he could see a girl sitting just under the tree with her knees pressed close to herself and a book resting on her knees. Rem stared down at the words on the page before turning said page and staring downwards once more. She had been reading most of the day and was already almost finished with the book that she had only started to read the day before. It was both wonderful and horrible to the purple haired girl to know that she was slowly coming to the end of said book, yet she was on a roll and wasn't about to stop now.
A splashing could be heard not far off, and almost instantly, Rem stopped and looked over only to see Squirt, her Totodile, splashing as he came up from the water. For a few seconds, the purple haired girl just stared at her pokemon who just stared back, and after a moment, the small crocodile pokemon slowly rubbed the back of his head and moved out of the water before finally coming to sit next to his trainer rather quietly. The girl simply turned her eyes back to the book and continued to read again rather quietly to herself.

Then why won't you let me go walk around myself? I'm 13 now. I can handle myself."No silence was permanent however, all things must be broken. Even time would be broken eventually, coming to an unfortunate stop along with all it's onlookers. But no, death was the last thing on Noah's mind for the time being. Floating through the silent air came a gentle tune; quiet, soft, and almost unnoticeable. But in this serene foreground, it was audible. Noah sat in a tree not all too far from where she sat, reading. He was just a small walk away, possibly 100 feet into the woods... if even that far. His fingers danced along his flute, gently careening their way from note to note as he let his feelings unfold in the sound of his music... it was often he would find himself doing this. Rather than talk to someone about his feelings, he would play them out.
His mood was currently a good one, a lucky gesture of sorts. The tune was soft, yes; but it moved quickly and was rather cheery. Harmony, Noah's Snivy, rested on his shoulder, getting a perfect hearing of his music. She shared his passion for music; it brought the two of them ever closer.

No, Noah. That's final.Noah continued on, eyes closed now. His hands had memorized the notes and fingerings long ago. From days and weeks on end of straight practice, had perfected his playing among three instruments; his favorite of which obviously was the current flute. He let his mind wander off into the music, his candid expression almost serene. His memory drifted back to his childhood... the best of times working with his father at the ice cream Parlour, helping around the shop... even playing alongside his mother. Yes, it were these dainty memories that kept the improvised music flowing.
Harmony was first to notice someone approach. She sat up on his shoulder and looked around. Not seeing anything, she gently tapped Noah's head. However, with no response, she tweaked his nose. Still nothing! She sighed softly and hopped into his lap, formed by his crossed legs while he sat on the branch; looking out for anything that moved.

But that's not fair! Why can everyone else do it?Upon the girl's arrival, Harmony finally used her last resort. She slapped Noah across the broadside of his face with her lead-like tail, startling him. Combined with the random person below asking him a question, he was shocked out of the tree. However, Noah managed to land (a bit shakily) on his feet, looking up as if nothing had just happened. "It was... improvised," he said, stating the truth.
Harmony hopped down onto his shoulder, climbing up on top of his head. Noah laughed softly as she clambered up, smiling up at his Pokemon before looking at the girl again. "So! I'm Noah. Your name is....?"

Wait, so she was just going to leave? Noah blinked. She hadnt hardly responded, let alone give a name! She had just stared at him, turned, and walked off! Not only was that rude, but also ignorant. What was up with this girl?
Noah followed behind her, catching up at a brisk jog and slowing down to walk at her side. He looked to his left to look at her. "So, what? Your name is blank stare or something?" he asked, smirking softly. "Are you mute or something?" he asked. If she was, that would make sense. If not... well. Eh.

"..." Noah paused for a moment to think. "Well, at any rate, good to meet you!" Noah said enthusiastically. He smiled softly as Harmony finally clambered onto his shoulder, resting there. The Snivy looked to where Squirt was and smiled. Noah offered a hand to shake to the girl. Noah had always been... a very, very kind boy, but sometimes he didn't realize when people didnt want to be bothered.

Because they werent born weak!Noah mulled her question over for a moment. It had just been a friendly gesture; who's to say it had any purpose other than that behind it? ...I mean sure, he could've pulled a prank while shaking her hand, or flipped her over, but Noah wasn't that kind of guy! Deciding that she was oblivious to hospitality, he shrugged. "I just meant it as a friendly handshake. Is there something wrong with such a thing?"
Harmony tilted her head curiously until the small grass snake leaped down from his shoulder and inched towards Squirt. She smiled softly. <Hi!> she said rather enthusiastically. She wasn't looking to battle, just a chat. Twas' unfortunately not too often that she had the time to just chat with another Pokemon.

..... ........ ............ Rem stared and found herself frowning a little. Just a friendly.... but then... why would anyone want to be friends with her? No wait, that wasn't what he had meant... the word friendly... it was an adjective, a describing word to mean... like a friend? Someone with a light and general goodnature. So it was like a friend though... did that mean he had some other ulterior motive than being anything more than a friend seeing as the word 'like' could-....... Rem was giving herself a rather fast growing headache, and after a few seconds, she simply raised a hand and made to rub her temple inevitably stopping and simply brushing her hair to one side.
"Ah..." she answered back after a few seconds nodding her head a little. "Then you're friendly to everyone." She more or less assumed, really... Though whether this was accurate or not was far from the girl's thoughts or not after she had said it. After a moment, her eyes stared downwards and zeroed in on the-....Snivy... the grass snake pokemon....a grass type... possibly able to photosynthesize what it needs to survive... She wasn't entirely sure if that last part was correct or not and then mentally kicked herself for leaving that particular book on grass type pokemon at home. After a few seconds, she looked at the Totodile by her side and then finally up at Noah again. "Are you a trainer then?" she asked after another moment.
Squirt was heavily distraught when the Snivy had stepped forwards, and his 'nails' were slowly digging themselves further into his trainer's leg threatening to possibly do some damage to her if either one were too careless at that point. As the greeting was spoken, however, Squirt relaxed a little finding that the Snivy didn't look terribly intimidating any more when a friendly tone was used. After a few seconds, he managed to catch air into his lungs again. <H-h-hello....> he said after a moment feeling his general shyness come back to him once more.
