"ARRG! I can't take this anymore!"
It had only been a few hours since the young trainer had wandered into the rather sleepy town, more of a large rest stop than a town despite it holding the region's Breeding Center. It was a nice, quiet town; one that you could really relax in. It was this quiet, relaxing atmosphere that was driving Gunnar up the wall! Oh, how he wanted to just leave this boring old town behind! But he couldn't. Gizmo, who was currently plodding along contently at his side, had convinced him to just take a break and spend the night in the town. It had been near two weeks since Gunnar had slept in a decent bed and Gizmo knew that he was getting run down, although the boy would never let you see it on his face.
Gunnar huffed audiably. Why did breeders have to be so stinkin' boring?! Seriously! This was their town. Couldn't they at least 'livin' it up a little? Running a hand through his pushed back hair, he looked down at Gizmo, seeing the serious look that was plastered on it's face. It was obvious the Squirtle wasn't too happy with his trainer's childish behavior. Gunnar just rolled his eyes and bent down a bit to be at his Pokemon's height, all the while still walking at his quick pace. "Oh, come ON, Gizmo. You can't seriously think this town is any more fun than I do." The Squirtle simply shrugged it's small shoulders, and kept on walking. Gunnar slowed his pace down a second in disbelief as he stared blankly at the tiny turtle as it get ahead of him. Did Gizmo honestly mean that he was enjoying this boring place?
I need some excitement. Gunnar thought, a bored expression now plastered across his face. There had to be something to do in this town to quench his thirst for action. He looked blankly around him, looking for something, anything, that he would consider entertaining. He saw a bunch of stores, but nothing at all interesting to him. He could always go check out the Breeder's Center. He had just passed it after all-
Wait... Gunnar stopped dead in his tracks, a flash of blue and pink in the corner of his eye catching his attention. Quickly backpeddling, he looked over to see a purple haired girl and her Totodile sitting under a tree. BINGO! A huge smirk spread across the young trainer's face as he broke out in a sprint towards the girl. You see, Gunnar wasn't exactly the most broadminded. His mind registered that having a Pokemon automatically made you a trainer, despite this being the breeding center of the Manen Region. Gizmo, hearing his trainer's frantic footsteps, turned around to see him dashing off. In slight panic, the Squirtle raced after his trainer. What was he getting into now?!
As Gunnar got within a few feet of the girl, he stopped abruptly, breathing a heavy from the sprint. He looked down at the girl, a rather devious look on his face. That face was never a good thing to see. "Hey! You've got a Pokemon! That makes you a trainer, right?" It was more of rhetorical question. There was no reasoning with Gunnar now. "Well then, I challenge you to a battle! No buts!" As Gizmo finally reached his trainer, he was breathing very heavily. His little legs had to do quadruple the steps his trainer did, and his aquatic body wasn't exactly made for running on the land either. As he heard his trainer's last statement, he groaned and hit his face with his palm. < Here we go again.. >
POKEMON Trainer Gunnar would like to battle!

Rem had ignored piratically everything around her and had finally resolved to actually read rather than stare at the center any longer. Once she had finished, then she would decide whether or not she actually wanted to go and talk with the workers there. Mmmm.... her mind found itself still mildly distracted and barely able to come up with what exactly was happening in the book that she was reading, yet she wasn't going to look up again no sir...... Until she suddenly heard someone addressing her. Looking up rather suddenly, the purple haired girl stared at the boy that had just challenged her to a battle. Hu? Wait what? For a few seconds, Remabella couldn't even think of anything adequate to answer with.
"Hu?" she finally asked turning her head slowly to one side and staring at the boy. Definitely not the most intelligent thing she had answered back with, but then again, Rem couldn't find the words to describe what she wanted to say at that moment. The questions that were coming to mind simply didn't make it to her mouth for some reason or another. This could possibly have been shock... or maybe not... Only Rem would know at that point. At some point, her eye caught the Squirtle that had caught up to the boy, and it was then that it finally occurred to her that he was asking for a pokemon battle. Her eyes grew large at this realization, and she looked rather quickly back to the boy and shook her head a little. "I'm not a trainer..." she finally answered back only to turn her head and stare at Squirt in that moment.
Poor Squirt had been extremely aware of his surroundings, and when the boy had showed up, the small water type had quickly hid behind his trainer hoping that she would in some way protect him or tell him that he wouldn't have to battle. As the conversation between the boy and his girl started, Squirt began to relax a little. Oooh good... thank Arceus.... After a few seconds, he slowly came out from behind Rem again looking rather scared to say the least of it.
